Been living in Portugal for 6 years and I have got to agree with Pedro, the Portuguese ar generally just bloody rude, it's in their nature to be unforgiving especially where driving is concerned. And the roads, oh don't get me started on the roads. Pedro you mentioned road names............Ye, like which road names? I ain't seeing any....
The streets are terrible, bumpy and just up to shit. Think I need a tomtom as well.

Have fun bud...

Tammy,

You must get a GPS with a removable SD card (like most cameras and MP3 players) The Tomtom "reviewed" here has a fixed internal 512 Mb memory. You can't even get "Western Europe" in it. The previous Tomtom One models (1 & 2) had a slot for an SD card. The 3rd edition does not...talk about dumbing down your market.

I can't decide whether to get a basic model like you did or just go all the way and get the latest and greatest model. I thought about getting a cheap model just to try and see if I'll get much use out of it but you know what they say, buy cheap, buy twice.
